In the Garden
One of the earliest tree fruits to ripen is the cherry, and everyone has a favorite pie recipe. The tart taste of cherries is great on vanilla ice cream, dipped in chocolate, or straight from the tree. In April we learned what to do with cherry blossoms. Refer to the entry in “April” for more details on cherry trees. Now, let’s see what we can do with the fruit.
Just as the flowers are associated with love, so too are the cherries. Squeeze the juice from a cherry and use it to consecrate a red candle for love spells. To attract love, wash two cherry stones (fruit pits), let them dry, and then sew them into a little pouch to carry with you. To help manifest your dreams, take three cherries, and one at a time pull the stems off. As you do this, visualize your wishes. After eating the three cherries, bury the stones as you say:
Fruit of abundance, red and round; I commit your seeds to the ground. Manifest the vision I see; blessed cherry, so mote it be.
