Sensitive Breakup Spread
On This Day
Henry VIII married six times, beheading two of his wives. Catherine Howard was only eighteen years old when Henry sent her to the guillotine.
Henry VIII told his first wife, Catherine of Aragon, they would separate on this day in 1527. The king, upset with Catherine’s inability to produce a male heir, engaged in a salacious affair with Anne Boleyn. Catherine was banished from court and forced to take residence elsewhere. Till the end of her life she ascertained her right as Henry’s only lawful wife and England’s only rightful queen.
