Wisdom of Thoth Spread

On This Day

Thoth, credited with the invention of hermetic arts and magic, is the patron of scribes. Thoth lives in many realms at once, teaching magical skills in the land of the living.

The Rosetta Stone was discovered during a Napoleonic campaign in Egypt today in 1759. Egyptian hieroglyphics were untranslated until this discovery; their meanings were open to speculation. Once the stone was discovered, though, Egyptologists were able to unlock the entire hieroglyphic language and writing system.
